Permittees
See the guide Everything You Need to Know About AQTIS to learn where to find film and television contracts and how to become a member.
To become a member of AQTIS, you must first become a permittee.
What is a permittee?
-
A technician who holds a position covered by an AQTIS collective agreement and who has not yet obtained member status.
-
While waiting to become a member, the technician receives an AQTIS permit in order to work on productions under the association's jurisdiction. The technician is covered by the collective agreements negotiated by AQTIS.
-
Permittees become members when they meet all of the membership criteria for their specific occupation.
-
Once a permittee has accumulated all the credits and taken all the training related to the specific occupation, it is up to the permittee to contact AQTIS in order to be accepted as a member.
The permittee must pay the annual fee in order to complete the membership process and no longer be required to pay for permits. Permits are non-refundable. It is therefore important to contact AQTIS to pay your membership fee as soon as you have the necessary number of credits and have completed the required training.
How do I become a permittee?
-
In order to begin your career on the right foot, you should take the AQTIS 101 course as soon as possible. In addition to being mandatory for membership, this course will provide you with access to a great deal of invaluable information for technicians.
-
You become a permittee once you are offered your first employment contract on an AQTIS production:
-
You should then send us either the AQTIS contract or a promise of hiring from the production. Then we will give you your license number. You can send your documents to our representatives at members@aqtis514iatse.com
