A support letter addressed to Minister St-Onge

The Canadian film and television production industry’s national unions, along with the Canadian Film and Television Commissions, are asking Minister St-Onge to help us deal with the impact of the current SAG-AFTRA strike on the Canadian audiovisual industry.
In their letter of support, dated October 17, they stress the economic importance of foreign productions in Canada, and the job and revenue losses caused by the strike in Hollywood. The unions and the BCTC are calling for financial support for workers and companies in the sector, as well as measures to extend the repayment period for the CUEC and eliminate interest charges.
Financial support from the federal government is crucial to maintaining a skilled workforce and ensuring the viability of our industry.
