Montreal, November 14, 2023 - The Association québécoise des techniciens et techniciennes de l’image et du son (AQTIS) 514 IATSE, affiliated with the FTQ, is pleased to announce the election of Bernard Larivière as its new President. In an election held from April 9 to 24, Mr. Larivière was chosen by the union's members to succeed Christian Lemay and represent Quebec's 8,000 film and TV technicians.

Bernard Larivière is a key rigging grip by profession who has been active in the union since 2017. He started in the labour relations department and moved on to become Vice-President, Postproduction and then Vice-President, American Productions. As the new President, he is committed to continuing the work begun by his predecessor while exploring new avenues to ensure the future of the film and television industry in Quebec.

"I am proud and humbled to take on this new challenge,” said Bernard Larivière, President of AQTIS 514 IATSE. “In my new role as President, I will work with all the players in our industry in the best interests of our members. I want to build trust in the union among the members and I thank them for the trust they have placed in me.”

Two vice-president positions were also up for election this year. Pierre Daudelin succeeds Bernard Larivière as Vice-President, American Productions, and Jason Goodall was re-elected Vice-President, Fiction and Advertising.
