Camera Trainee Program - A Quarter-Century!

Publié le March 31, 2025

On March 10th, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Camera Trainee Program during a memorable evening.

First of all, thank you for your presence. It was a beautiful and touching reunion.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, it takes a whole team to train a camera trainee!

Thank you to the extended family of the Camera Department for participating in the guidance and development of each new recruit in our department. Thanks to you, trainees become competent, professional, passionate, and pleasant technicians, capable of working as a team to achieve a common goal, and who, as they grow, will in turn become mentors for the next generation.

Thank you to the Camera AEE (Apprentices and Experience Equivalency) committee, which throughout the year ensures that the right decisions are made for the Camera Department.

Here is the committee! Isabelle Pépin, coordinator of the apprenticeship program for nine years; Nicolas Marion, my fellow representative; Philippe Amiguet; Paul Gillot; Isabelle de Montmollin; and finally Gabriel F-Taillon, who had the brilliant idea of highlighting the 25th anniversary of the program and who created and produced the commemorative video in no time.

Thank you to the volunteers who get involved each year in the selection process for new cohorts of trainees.

Thank you also to Chloé Giroux Lachance, Vice-President of the Camera sector, for her deep involvement in every issue that closely or remotely affects the members of our department.

By the way, if you would like to join our committee, contact me at ctessier@aqtis514iatse.com. You are all welcome!

I wish us many shoots with trainees, to ensure the future and strength of our department.
