Launch of Regional Issues Committee
Publié le April 1, 2025

To ensure audiovisual production develops in the regions and benefits local workers, the question remains: how do we make it work?
Following the initiative of passionate members from Quebec City and the Lower St. Lawrence region, AQTIS 514 IATSE announces the creation of a new Regional Issues Committee. This was also highlighted during the Discussion Forum in October 2024.
Already, a dozen people who work primarily outside Montreal have enthusiastically joined this initiative.
Together, we will examine important questions such as:
- How can we ensure that productions (whether they come from Montreal, abroad, or locally) hire more people from the regions?
- How can we simplify the administrative processes for local producers so that there are more productions under negotiated agreements throughout Quebec?
- How can we make training more accessible when you don't work in Montreal?
- How can we give more voice to technicians who work outside Montreal within AQTIS 514 IATSE?
- How can we make AQTIS 514 IATSE membership more advantageous when there are fewer shoots or non-union shoots in our regions?
Want to be part of the solution?
Do you care about the development of audiovisual production throughout Quebec? Do you want to share your ideas, contribute to finding concrete solutions, and connect with other people in the industry?
Join our committee!
