Audiovisual Researchers: AQTIS 514 IATSE Reacts to TAT Decision
Publié le August 7, 2025

AQTIS 514 IATSE is disappointed with the decision rendered on August 4th by the Administrative Labour Tribunal (TAT), which rejected its request to interpret its certifications to represent researchers and head researchers working in the audiovisual field.
Despite this outcome, obtaining the right to union recognition for this group remains an important step forward. Their essential role in the content production chain deserves to be fully recognized. This step paves the way for an improvement in their working conditions.
"We welcome the fact that researchers will soon be able to benefit from union support. Their expertise deserves to be recognized, valued, and protected in the same way as that of other audiovisual professions," says Bernard Larivière, the association's president.
AQTIS 514 IATSE will continue to follow the next steps with diligence, openness, and respect for the workers concerned.
