AQTIS 514 IATSE is delighted that Mathieu Lacombe will remain Minister of Culture

MONTREAL, September 10, 2025 — Representing 8,000 audiovisual professionals, AQTIS 514 IATSE welcomes the reappointment of Mr. Mathieu Lacombe as Quebec’s Minister of Culture and Communications. His vision for the future of the industry and the creation of the Working Group on the Future of Audiovisual (GTAAQ) inspire confidence.

“Our sector is in troubled waters. The audiovisual industry, a pillar of Quebec culture, is in great need of concrete actions. Mr. Lacombe and his team can count on our full cooperation. There is an urgent need to act,” said Bernard Larivière, President of AQTIS 514 IATSE.

The report of the Working Group, presented last week, addresses several critical issues for our sector and proposes solutions that align with our priorities. Among them, we highlight the importance of recommendation 74, which aims to better support our technicians by adapting the Employment Insurance system to the intermittent nature of their work.
