2024–2028 Agreements: Details of the Clause on the Minimum Ratio of Recognized Members

Publié le October 31, 2025

The agreement has been in effect since August 2024. This agreement establishes a predictable and stable working framework for productions. The AQPM and AQTIS 514 IATSE sought to reconcile production imperatives with respect for the expertise of the crews.

Clause: Minimum Ratio of Members Recognized in their Function

To ensure the smooth operation of productions and avoid unforeseen compensation fees, the new provisions of the agreement must be applied, particularly those concerning the hiring priority, by function, of recognized members.

Practical Tool:

Use this memo (in French only) to help you apply this new clause.

What to Do:

  • Check: Consult the new salary scales and hiring criteria.

  • Apply: Ensure that production managers respect the hiring priority based on the recognition status of the individuals you wish to hire.

  • Use the Member Directory: It allows you to verify a technician's status:

    • The required function appears under the member's name = recognized

    • The required function does not appear = non-recognized

    • The name you are looking for is not in the directory = non-recognized

  • Guide: Remind your teams of the importance of keeping their own files up to date to simplify and speed up hiring processes (via the "My Personal Space" section of the AQTIS 514 IATSE website).

  • Stay Informed: Consult Appendix F of the collective agreement.

Where does the contribution go when the clause is not respected?

If the minimum ratio of members recognized in the function is not respected and a contribution must be paid, this amount is directed to the Mutuelle de formation du secteur de l’audiovisuel.

This fund makes it possible to offer specialized training to professionals, which ensures a workforce that maintains and develops its skills, thereby guaranteeing the quality and versatility necessary on set.
