In workplaces where creativity, passion and diversity are the norm, conflict and interpersonal issues are more common. Turning these challenges into opportunities by taking a collaborative rather than confrontational approach will improve the health and wellness of workers and boost productivity.
This session provides tips and tools for preventing conflict and for serving as a facilitator when tensions and conflicts do arise between coworkers. It is an opportunity to explore attitudes and actions that can help maintain a healthy, respectful work atmosphere and contribute to the well-being of coworkers.
Objectives
- Prevent situations that can lead to incivility and tension between coworkers, and intervene promptly when they do occur.
- Understand conflict resolution strategies and the stages in the development of a conflict.
- Avoid unnecessary confrontation and be better equipped to facilitate the resolution of conflicts involving coworkers.
- Promptly address behaviours that can lead to the formation of clans within your department or across departments.
- Learn the 5 Cs, the attitudes that promote collaboration and improve interactions with your close coworkers.

Prerequisites
Must have taken the “Introduction to the Union” session and be a member of AQTIS 514 IATSE.
Training team
Ghislaine Labelle is the founding president of Groupe Conseil SCO. She is an expert in the prevention and management of complex situations (conflicts, harassment and mental illness) in the workplace and has 30 years of experience as an occupational psychologist and mediator. A Certified Speaking Professional, she received the Fellow Distinction award of excellence from the Ordre des CRHA in 2018. She is the author of five books on conflict prevention in the workplace.
Over the course of her career, Ghislaine has helped thousands of organizations and work teams achieve or maintain high levels of organizational and relational health. She excels in mentoring, coaching, training, skills development, conflict prevention and resolution, and work climate analysis. Her clients value her rigour, professionalism and extensive experience in providing practical solutions tailored to each work team.
