Rigging and lifting
Introduction to rigging and lifting
Length : 8 hours
About
Whether you are a grip, lighting technician, or set dresser, among others, you have to perform your tasks in all sorts of environments: for example, setting up a diffusion, hanging a light, securing a branch, or suspending a set element under a balcony, behind a barn, in a studio, etc.
How do you go about it? What equipment should you use? Is the setup safe or not?
You will find answers to these questions in a dynamic setting focused on demonstrations and hands-on practice, using exercises and workshops adapted to the reality of a film set.
This training is for anyone, beginner or advanced, wishing to learn or deepen their understanding of rigging and lifting principles and techniques.
OBJECTIVES
- Acquire techniques and working methods common to all relevant roles.
- Know the basic safety principles of slinging and lifting.
- Know how to choose equipment taking into account their strengths/resistances/limitations.
- Develop an approach based on knowledge rather than improvisation (deconstructing urban legends).
