Netiquette

This netiquette applies to all posts on the AQTIS 514 IATSE Facebook (or other) group and to all comments posted on its social media accounts.

Our platforms are inclusive forums open to all. We want to provide a safe space for our community in all its diversity.

AQTIS 514 IATSE reserves the right to refuse or delete, at its sole discretion, any post that violates this netiquette. Any account and user that violates this netiquette may be excluded and/or banned, with or without notice.  

The union is under no obligation to remove any comment and/or user at the request of a member or permittee. Membership in our groups implies mutual trust. The discussions may contain sensitive and personal information, and it is imperative to keep it within the group.

AQTIS 514 IATSE reserves the right to exclude any member whose behaviour on its social media violates its code of conduct. The following types of content are prohibited:

1. Any undesirable, incomprehensible, irrelevant or repeated posts;
2. Any form of unauthorized self-promotion;
3. Insults, bullying, verbal abuse and any comments intended to humiliate or harm an individual, group or AQTIS 514 IATSE;
4. Any comments that are defamatory or intended to discredit an individual, group or AQTIS 514 IATSE.
5. Aggressive comments or comments in all caps (tantamount to shouting);
6. Inappropriate, coarse, offensive, vulgar or sexually explicit language;
7. Discriminatory, hateful, racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise disrespectful comments;
8. Promotion of illegal activity;
9. Any content liable to compromise the health or safety of an individual, group or AQTIS 514 IATSE;
10. Any content or arguments based on false statements or fake news.

AQTIS 514 IATSE reserves the right to delete comments containing links to websites whose authenticity or credibility cannot be confirmed.  

AQTIS 514 IATSE is not responsible for the comments and opinions expressed by its members and permittees. When the union makes a post, the information it shares is true and accurate as of the date of posting.

AQTIS 514 IATSE reserves the right to amend this netiquette without notice.

The AQTIS 514 IATSE communications team is responsible for ensuring compliance with this netiquette, analyzing possible violations and applying sanctions if necessary.
