Weapons Department

Want to be recognized in the Weapons department? Here’s what you need to do.

First, make sure you meet the basic requirements of the department :

Be a member in good standing (have paid the membership dues)
Have completed these training courses :

IMPORTANT NOTE:

In Canada, it is mandatory to hold a federal business permit in order to rent weapons or replica weapons for use on a production.

In order to work on a set, the Weapons Department technician must have their personal permits AND be under the business permit. They cannot work on a production without a company permit.

Armourer

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Armourer under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Key Armourer

Have accumulated 120 days of work as a Key Armourer under Union contract on at least one production.

Key Weapons Technician

Have accumulated 120 days of work as a Key Weapons Technician under Union contract on at least one production.

Weapon Supervisor

Have accumulated 120 days of work as a Weapon Supervisor under Union contract on at least one production.

Firearms Technician

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Firearms Technician under Union contract on at least one production.

This information allows us to issue your income tax slips and to transfer the accumulated saving from your RRSP and insurance, following the collective agreements.
