Maintaining Your Services: Understanding Dues Adjustments
Publié le July 11, 2025

Hello,
Some of you have sent us questions and comments following the announcement of the $50 increase in annual dues. I perfectly understand that this increase might be a challenge in the current climate. This is precisely why it's even more important for me to explain the situation as clearly and transparently as possible.
These adjustments are necessary so we can continue to offer you the services and support you expect from us. I'm talking about your group insurance, retirement plans, ongoing training, personal protective equipment, and of course, the crucial support for your working conditions through the collective agreement, grievance management, and occupational health and safety files. We also continue to represent you to governments and other institutions where we must make your voice and your interests known.
As you've undoubtedly noticed, all costs have significantly increased and your dues have remained unchanged for the past 3 years. This decision, let's remember, was proposed to you by the Executive Committee (composed of members), under the recommendation of the Financial Audit Committee (composed of members), and was democratically voted on by the members present at our last Annual General Assembly (AGA) in April.
Our industry is changing, and its funding model, established in the 90s, is outdated. We eagerly await the report from the GTAAQ, in which we participated. This report will help us identify actions we can take to ensure better working conditions and, most idmportantly, more jobs within our sector.
We look forward to continuing to build our future together.
Rest assured, I'm working day after day with perseverance and determination on the future of audiovisual in Quebec and on improving your socioeconomic conditions.
