Training for the Function of Grip

ABOUT
This training aims to define the role and specific duties of a set grip, as well as describe best practices to adopt on a film set. The participants will be trained with all the grip equipment used on set.
Target professions
Anyone who wants to become a stagehand.
Mandatory course to obtain recognition as a stagehand with AQTIS 514 IATSE (new and reclassified members).
Prerequisites
- Have taken the course “Initiation to community life”
- Already be a member of AQTIS 514 IATSE.

The number of participants allowed in each course is limited. On the day of the course, we will not admit any participants who have not paid for it in advance.
IMPORTANT: Please note that safety shoes must be worn to participate in training. Failure to do so may result in the trainer refusing to accept you, and you will be considered absent without a valid reason, subject to a $100 charge as per our cancellation policy.

At the end of this training, you'll be able to:
- Define the role and responsibilities of this function.
- Describe the steps of a typical day on a film set.
- Recall equipment terminology.
- Define the expected attitudes and behaviors for a grip.
- Identify communication challenges.
- Identify work methods for handling tools.
- Practice manipulating these tools.
