Sound
Introduction to film sets
Length : 14 hours
ABOUT
Professional sound recording is a complex aspect of filming. It is learned through tutoring, theory, observation and practice.
The Introduction to Film Sets training course therefore combines theory and practice. You will discover the many challenges of professional sound recording and explore possible solutions. Specifically, you will:
o gain an overview of the language of the trade, the equipment used and the skills and knowledge needed to work on different types of productions ;
o get hands-on practice in wireless microphone installation and boom handling, two basics for all types of sound recording.
Special attention will be paid to professionalism and ethics for sound recordists, boom operators and sound assistants.
The informal format is designed to encourage discussion and sharing of on-set experiences.
