Health and Safety Department

Want to be recognized in the Health and Safety department? Here’s what you need to do.

First, make sure you meet the basic requirements of the department :

Be a member in good standing (have paid the membership dues)
Have completed these training courses :

First Aid Attendant

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a First Aid Attendant under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Safety Coordinator

Have taken the following courses: Fall Protection and Respiratory protection.
Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Safety Coordinator under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Assistant Health & Safety Coordinator

Have taken the following courses: Fall Protection and Respiratory protection.

Have a university certificate in occupational health and safety

Be a certified occupational health and safety hygienist

First Aid Coordinator

Be a practicing and up-to-date First Aid Attendant
Have accumulated 300 days of work as a First Aid Attendant on film or TV productions
Be proficient with computer tools and equipment along with personnel management software (Excel, FileMaker, etc.)

Boating Safety Coordinator

Have taken the following course: Fall Protection
Have obtained the following certifications:
- FUMA4; Fonction d’Urgence en Mer À 4 km des côtes
- Cours de Sauvetage sous-marin (rescue diver)
- Premiers Soins + RCR/DEA
- Cours de Sauvetage Nautique 1er Intervenant
- Sauveteur en Eau Vive (niveau 2)
Demonstrate expertise in ice field assessment
Have taken the Manipulation sécuritaire des scies à chaîne training

Boating Safety Attendant

Have taken the following course: Fall Protection
Have obtained the following certifications:
- Brevet d’Opérateur Nautique (B.O.N.)
- Premiers Soins + RCR/DEA
- Cours de Sauvetage Nautique 1er Intervenant
