The association representing technicians in the audiovisual sector (the craftspeople working behind the camera) wishes to thank the Minister of Culture and Communications. Following the announcement this morning by the CAQ minister that he will leave political life at the end of his term, the union expresses its gratitude for his commitment to the audiovisual sector throughout his time in office. In addition to commissioning and completing the report from the GTAAQ (Working Group on the Future of the Audiovisual Sector in Quebec), Mathieu Lacombe remained attentive to the recommendations of all stakeholders in the sector.

"In a context where culture as a whole and the audiovisual community in particular are going through a crisis, the minister and his cabinet were receptive to the proposals put forward to them. He showed solidarity with us during the association's denunciations of derogation requests that undermined our members' social safety net. Furthermore, we eagerly await the outcome of the ministry's work, which is scheduled to table its plan in the coming days," states Bernard Larivière, President of AQTIS 514 IATSE.
