Several Audiovisual Industry Associations Submit Their Requests

Montreal, September 22, 2026 – Several key organizations representing members of Quebec’s audiovisual industry are joining forces to call for a review of the funding model for this major branch of the cultural sector. Although each organization operates within its own distinct reality, the Alliance québécoise des techniciens et techniciennes de l’image et du son (AQTIS 514 IATSE), the Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC), the Directors Guild of Canada – Quebec District Council (DGC Quebec), and the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) have worked together to demonstrate to the government that they share a common objective: ensuring the long-term sustainability of a sector that helps define Quebec’s identity, creates thousands of jobs, and generates revenue for the province.

These submissions follow the plan presented by Minister of Culture Mathieu Lacombe, which built on the work of the Working Group on the Future of Audiovisual Production in Quebec (GTAAQ). The plan was enthusiastically received across the industry. Common recommendations include maintaining and enhancing tax credits, making Quebec more attractive to foreign producers, and providing enhanced incentives for recurring productions and productions filmed in the regions.
