Grip Department

Want to be recognized in the Grip department? Here’s what you need to do.

First, make sure you meet the basic requirements of the department :

Be a member in good standing (have paid the membership dues)
Have completed these training courses :
- Introduction to the Union
- Secourisme Général avec RCR, Niveau C
- SIMDUT 2015
- Responsabilité criminelle en matière de santé et sécurité au travail
- Prevention of Harassment – Members, contributing to a harassment free culture
- Fall Protection
- Qualification sécuritaire des chariots élévateurs; Classes I, IV, V
- Qualifications sécuritaires des chariots élévateurs tout-terrain; Classe VII
- Conduite sécuritaire des chariots élévateurs
- Aerial Platforms and Lifting Platforms
- Scaffolding

Key Grip

Have taken the Introduction to the Profession of Grip and Managing a team training
Have accumulated 120 days of work as a Key Grip under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Assistant Key Grip (Best Girl/Best Boy)

Have taken the Introduction to the Profession of Grip training
Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Assistant Key Grip (Best Boy) under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Grip

Have taken the Introduction to the Profession of Grip
Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Grip under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Key Rigging Grip

Have taken the Managing a team training
Have accumulated 120 days of work as a Key Rigging Grip under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Assistant Key Rigging Grip (Best Girl/Best Boy)

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Assistant Key Rigging Grip (Best Boy) under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Rigging Grip

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Rigging Grip under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Underwater Camera Grip Operator

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Underwater Camera Grip Operator under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Dolly Grip Operator

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Dolly Grip Operator under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Camera Crane Grip Technician

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Camera Crane Grip Technician under Union contract on at least 2 different productions

Camera Crane Operator

Have accumulated 90 days of work as a Camera Crane Operator under Union contract on at least 2 different productions
